Aru Valley—Valley of Sizzling Beauty in Pahalgam
Exposed against the mesmerizing snow-clad Himalayan peaks, Aru Valley is a pristine village in Kashmir. Situated at a distance of 11 km from pristine Pahalgam, it is the commencing camp for trekking towards the Kolahoi Glacier as well as the Tarsar-Marsar Lake. 1. The horse owners flock around you and provide a high price for the horses and these people claim that the valley featured in the movie "Bajarangi Bhaijaan". However, do not fall into the trap and bargain properly before taking the ride.
2. If you opt for adventure activities like skiing, ensure to fix the price beforehand.
3. If you are interested in exploring the place in a cab, you have to hire it from the marketplace of Pahalgam. Outside taxis are not permitted in Aru Valley.
4. Wear soft shoes as you have to walk a lot in Aru.
Situated 12km from Pahalgam, one can hire a taxi to get to Aru Valley. The taxis are available from a taxi stand in Pahalgam. AS you reach Aru, one can trek around or have a pony ride.
July to September is a wonderful time to visit Aru Valley since it is exemplary for sightseeing at this time. To enjoy skiing, decide on a trip to Aru Valley in the winter.
