How To Reach Spiti Valley By Air?

 Getting to Spiti by air is not an easy task as the nearest airport to the Spiti Valley is at Kullu, some 260 kilometers away. So if you travel to Spiti by plane, you still have a lot to cover. It takes about 7-8 hours to get to Spiti from Kullu Airport. Another disadvantage of flying to Spiti is that you may not find direct flights to Kullu Airport from your hometown as it is a domestic airport. The nearest international airport is at Chandigarh, kilometers away. Therefore, it can be quite difficult to travel to Spiti by plane. 

 

How To Reach Spiti Valley By Train?

 The nearest railway station to Spiti Valley is Joginder Nagar railway station, which is 360 kilometers from the valley. So if you travel to Spiti by train, you still have a long way to go. 

 Since Joginder Nagar Railway Station can be connected to all parts of the country, travelers can book tickets to Shimla Railway Station, which is another 100 kilometers (about 456 kilometers) away from Shimla Joginder Nagar Railway Station.

Traveling to Spiti by car is one of the most adventurous and convenient options for travelers from nearby cities like Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and others. There are several routes to reach Spiti. Travelers can choose to travel from Manali via Rohtang Pass, from Shimla, or from Srinagar via Kargil.
