This year 75 Eco- hubs Will make along River Ganga 

In the latest development, 75 destinations along the banks of the Ganga river will be developed this year as hubs of sustainable financial development and tourism. This will be done by promoting site-specific sports, such as river walks, homestays, biodiversity watches, village tours, jungle safaris, and lots more sports.

Reports have it that around 26 such sites have already ended up operations in six states along rivers Gomati, Ganga, Chambal, Yamuna, and Hoogly, that's a part of the Centre’s large purpose to promote livelihood sports beneath neath the Arth Ganga idea of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).

Referring to this, NMCG Director General, G Asok Kumar stated that this initiative is as a part of the Arth Ganga idea started by PM Narendra Modi at the National Ganga Council meeting in 2019 in Kanpur. This project will make river people join thru economic bridges to ensure the sustainability of the efforts of NMCG in rejuvenating the Ganga and its tributaries, and Jalaj is a part of one in every of its six diagnosed verticals - livelihood generation. Reportedly, Jalaj is based on the 'round economy model via which local people are mobilized to make a contribution to the biodiversity conservation and easy river atmosphere and educated in sustainable livelihood practices.

Union Jal Shakti (water resources) Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat released the initiative virtually on August 16 at 26 sites in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. While eleven such sites are in Uttar Pradesh, six sites are in West Bengal, 5 in Bihar,  in Uttarakhand, and one each in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.

For this initiative, specific activities were identified for each site, and the availability of herbal resources and local conditions were considered for the same.
