About Kasauli Travel Guide

Located by the side of a road that operates from Chandigarh to Shimla in district Solan, Kasauli is an incredibly hilly cantonment town that becomes an exemplary peaceful holiday place, particularly for an exotic weekend. Since Kasauli is situated in southwestern Himachal and falls on the lower edges of the Himalayas, it is known for hiking trails. It is engulfed by forests of Chir Pine, Milk Thistle, and cedar trees.

 

How to reach Kasauli

By Road:-You can reach Kasauli by car or tourist bus from Chandigarh. The distance by road is 57.1 km. 

BY Rail:-Kasauli does not have a railway station of its own. But you can come to Kalka by train and from here move to Kasauli.

By Air:-To reach Kasauli by flight, you can alight at Chandigarh airport. From here, reach the place by car.

Monkey Point

Kasauli's Monkey point is the most elevated point in the town and is among the well-known attractions of the place. Situated 4 kilometers from the bus stand, the destination has a little temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and the temple is full of monkeys. You can have a bird's eye view of the cities like Chandigarh, Kalka, Panchkula, and also the Sutlej river from this spot.

On a crystal clear day, visitors can also locate a snow-covered peak of 'Choor Chandni', the most elevated peak of the Lower Himalayan belt. It is said that Lord Hanuman's foot had an impact on this spot.  The hilltop shaped like a temple foot is believed to be engraved with footmarks of the Lord. "Tapp's Nose" is the name provided for this unusual shape of the rock.

Anglican church

Situated in the central part of the city with a  Mall road engulfing it, this church is a well-known tourist spot. It was built in the year 1853 with the Gothic style of architecture. This church has eye-catching Italian and Spanish stained glass windows that depict Christ, Mary, Saint Barnabas, and Saint Francis and is a mesmerizing structure to look at.

Gilbert Trail

Gilbert Trail is a hike of 1.5 kilometers and commences from Kasauli Club.  The trail closes at the Air Force Station, nearby Sunset Point. The path is wide in the strat and becomes narrow after a while. Gilbert Tail is famous for its sights and multiple species of birds.

Sunset point

Sunset Point in Kasauli is a famous yet quiet spot to see the sunset, pine-laid landscapes, valleys as well as sceneries. Near to the Sunset point, is a trail or a path called Lover's Lane which is a quiet walk through the valleys and some of the Kasauli's calm and incredibly breath-taking sceneries. Sri baba Balak nath temple

This temple is built for Baba Balak Nath, a follower of Lord Shiva. It is at a distance of 3 km from Kasauli and can be reached by bus or taxi. The belief about this temple is that in case childless couples come and worship here they will be blessed with children.

Gorkha Fort

This place is for people who love history. Gorkha Fort is located on a tiny hill Subathu at a distance of 16 km from Parwanoo. The fort today displays strength even through its ruins. With a piercing view of thick forest all around, tourists can also see the Gurkha Museum to witness the past dating back to 1815. It is among many sought-after places to see in Himachal Pradesh.
